Coffee Grinder

Grinding Out A Cup Of Coffee

The coffee grinder has been around almost as long as humans have been drinking coffee. When the coffee bean was first discovered in the Middle East, it was dried, boiled in water and then the coffee lover would drink the broth and eat the berries. Once humans became a little more sophisticated in their coffee drinking, the beans were dried then pounded into bits and then brewed. Soon humans grasped the idea of roasting the coffee beans and then pulverizing them in a coffee grinder to make even better coffee.

A Necessity When You Want Coffee

Once coffee became a commercial adventure and manufacturers began making coffee to be sold, it was often pre-ground before being canned, sealed and sold. This type of coffee is probably the most widely available, but for many the aroma and flavor of your everyday run of the mill coffee leaves something to be desired. That is partly the reason that gourmet coffee has become such a big business in the last few years.

Consumers began to realize that to make a better cup of coffee; you needed a better quality of coffee beans. Many grocery stores today sell a variety of coffees as whole beans. Usually once you choose the variety of coffee you want, there is a coffee grinder right there by the coffee to pulverize your beans. Since there is no lag time between purchasing the beans, using the coffee grinder and brewing the coffee, the quality of the coffee itself will be better. With commercial coffee, there is usually about a three week delay before the cans of coffee are bought by a consumer. By that time, quite often the coffee will start to be stale and start to develop a bitter taste.

These days the world is even better for coffee lovers since there are a variety of coffee grinders available for home use. These small coffee grinders aren’t large like coffee shop coffee grinders, but they get the job done just fine. This enables the coffee lover to buy whole beans at the store and only grind the amount needed for their morning coffee every day.

Coffee grinders help coffee lovers achieve a fresher taste and quality to their morning coffee. For most coffee aficionados, having an entire coffee making setup at home will include a coffee grinder as well as the required equipment such as a coffee maker. If you are a coffee lover, having a coffee grinder at home can mean the difference between a super fresh cup of coffee and an average one.
